The team had a 5-0 record in morning pool play, defeating West Carroll, Scales Mound, South Beloit, Durand and Ashton-Franklin Center. Galena moved on to the afternoon rounds, along with River Ridge (also 5-0) and Pecatonica, both of which also had won their respective pools, and wild card Lena-Winslow.
