Kreider Services in Galena needed new food preparation devices and the Galena Lions Club was able to assist with a donation of $1000. Based in Dixon, Kreider provides direct care programs to persons with developmental disabilities. The organization has 29 24-hour supervised group homes in northwest Illinois. The Galena Lions Club donates thousands of dollars annually for community individuals and organizations in need from the proceeds of Galena Oktoberfest. Ty Harmston of Country Financial (Elizabeth branch) recently donated funds to purchase a new mobile plant cart for the River Ridge Agriculture Department greenhouse.
