Hanover man charged for escape
Marquez Martinez, 21, Hanover, was charged with escape, a class 2 felony. According to the criminal complaint filed in Jo Daviess Circuit Court, Martinez was being handcuffed on his right hand by a Hanover police officer, when he intentionally escaped away on Aug. 22.

5K Walk/Run to benefit food pantry
GALENA-Midwest Health & Fitness Center, located in Midwest Medical Center invites the entire community to participate in the sixth annual 5K Walk/Run to be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, starting at 9 a.m. at the Galena River Trail. Registration is $15 and pre-registration is encouraged. Proceeds will benefit the United Churches of Galena Food Pantry.

IDOT plans East Dubuque meeting
EAST DUBUQUE-Illinois Transportation Secretary Gary Hannig announced that the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will seek early input into the development of upcoming Multi-Year Road Program for Highway Improvements for Fiscal Years 2012-2017 by hosting 20 informational and feedback sessions in communities throughout the state.
