It has amazed me what our country and state of Illinois have become. All our politicians are running around saying they are going to create jobs and do this and do that and in fact what have they done in the past years. Illinois is around 10 percent unemployment and has very high percentages of poverty. Our USA has become a laughing stock to many foreign countries. In fact China has paid for a lot of our debts,so now are we the United States of China. I can not believe that our politicians have not figured out that to create jobs we need to make our own products here in the good ole USA. We import more from other countries then we export. An example I went to the store today to do some shopping and I went to the meat department and I saw a package of steak that said “ Product of Mexico”, now I can not believe that in our country we do not have enough cows to butcher for steak, and that we have to import this. And how many times have you gone to a store and shopped and seen so many products made outside our country, like Made in China,Made in India, etc. To create jobs we need to make our own products and sell then in our state and export them. Now I have heard that if we make our own products it would cost more, well I say if I know it is American made I would be willing to pay more for it,because I now that this was made by someone that had a job and worked for a living. We need to stop sending our businesses over seas or out of our country. I can not tell you how much I have heard that a company has sent there products to be made in another country, just because it was cheaper on labor and shipping cost. But I also heard many stories that this has failed because the company sends products to other country and has to pay shipping cost and then has to pay for labor, but when products are sent back and the company has to pay for the shipping and the products where not done right or our defective and now has to pay labor in the USA to have them fixed or has to do them over again. I ask where is the savings. In our state of Illinois, our General Assembly passed an increased Corporate Tax that has many businesses talking about leaving Illinois or have left already. Where is the logic in this, we need to keep all businesses in our state, This means big and small businesses. Our state Representatives and Senators need to try and keep all businesses here and also our Federal Senators and Representatives need to do this. To get our economy moving we need to get work back here in our country and state and county and cities. The answers are there but are Government is blind to that,
Now I am a democrat and many people will say this problem in our country and state is all done by the democrats, but I can say to you is that it was started along time ago even when republicans controlled every thing. Our country and our state is bankrupt and it will take many years to get back on the right track and this needs bi-partisan support. To make this simple to create jobs we need to make our own products and sell then in our country and sell them to other countries, To keep all businesses in our country and not send to other countries, To help small and big businesses stay here by our government making corporate tax fair and manageable. To help train people for the right job that they could do. To help all veterans find work. To fund welfare to work program and get people back to work to lower unemployment and poverty. I could go on with more ,but this paper does not have the room.

Sincerely

Walter M. Johnson

I understand that there was an article in your local paper about Richard Thole. The reason I ask about this is that he is the new principal at our high school. And our football teams are playing each other this weekend. Where can I find that article on your web site? Would like to read it. Thanks!Debbie
