On Friday, April 21, three students from Galena High School traveled to Bloomington/Normal to compete in the IHSA State Journalism Competition. Senior Sam Eaton competed in the Sports Writing Category. Senior Jenna Smith competed and brought home a second-place medal in Headline Writing and a fifth-place medal in Review Writing. Senior Kennedy Trautsch earned hardware in the Editorial Writing Category, coming home with the third-place medal.
