Local clinician, Hesper Nowatzki, doctor of nursing practice, was recently honored by the Center for Clinician Advancement at United Health Group as a winner of the 2019 Sages of Clinical Services Award.
Nowatzki was one of 122 recipients selected out of 42,000 licensed clinicians at United Health Group and Optum Care. Recipients are nominated through peer and leadership applications based on their demonstrated values of integrity, compassion, relationships, innovation and performance in both their professional and personal lives.
The Sages of Clinical Services Award recognizes licensed clinicians from nursing, social work, behavioral health, clinical services, pharmacy and other disciplines on the interprofessional care team who serve in a variety of roles throughout the United Health Group and Optum Care enterprise.
A celebration ceremony will be held in Minneapolis, Minn., Oct. 2-4. Nowatzki is a nurse practitioner and has been a long-term resident of Galena. In her role with United Health Group and Optum Care, she provides house call visits to residents throughout Jo Daviess, Carroll and Whiteside counties. She also serves patients for St. Croix Hospice and provides telepsychiatry/remote healthcare services for Forefront Telecare.
Nowatzki serves on the board of directors for Riverview Center and the Jo Daviess County Health Department. She is the daughter of Elissa Nowatzki and the late Robert Nowatzki.
