“When students arrived in their third grade class at River Ridge School in Hanover recently, they found a full-sized set of grandparents (not the real honest-to-goodness type, but very good replicas). Teacher Linda Mulholland designed and dressed the grandmother and grandfather in regular clothing and placed them in comfortable chairs in her classroom to help children become more aware of Grandparents Day which was observed on Sept. 13. During the week, her students wrote letters about their daily happenings, walked to the local post office and mailed them to their own grandparents. Pictured are, from left: teacher Linda Mulholland, Sarah Watts, Robin Bell, Shawna Wilson, Miles Gillot, James Johnson, Daniel True, Colin Allison, Bryan Fulton, Jody Richmond and Jeremy Brandt; middle row: Christina Green, Larry Turner, Leanne Cliff, Heather Hadley and Andy Edgerton; front row: Nettie Richmond, Stephanie Johnson, Christine Curtis, Josh Sturtevant, Brandon Haggerty, Chad Kautz and Joey Johnson.”
