PLATTEVILLE, Wis.–Elsie E. Virtue, 77, Platteville, Wis., passed away peacefully on her 31st wedding anniversary, Nov. 25, 2020, at UW Hospital, Madison, of COVID-19, surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, at the Melby Funeral Home and Crematory, Platteville. A private family service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Platteville Free Methodist Church. The Rev. Jeff Suits will officiate.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the Platteville Free Methodist Church Facebook page at 11 a.m.

While in attendance at the funeral home and church, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Memorials may be made to the Elsie Virtue Memorial Fund, which can be mailed to the funeral home at P.O. Box 245, Platteville, WI 53818.

CARPENTERSVILLE–Evelyn Fryer, 93, Carpentersville, passed away in the comfort of her home, under the care of her family on Wednesday evening, Nov. 25, 2020.

Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Due to current COVID-19 pandemic mandates and restrictions, only ten people will be allowed within the visitation room at a single time, and everyone who enters the funeral home MUST be wearing a face mask. Following prayers at 10:30 A.M., there will be a procession to St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee, for Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Reese officiating. Evelyn’s funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Catherine of Siena’s website. Private family burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township, 20 S. Grove St., Carpentersville, and the HOPE Foundation, P.O. Box 262, Galena, IL 61036.

FREEPORT–Doris Goodrich, 83, Freeport, died Nov. 11, at Rock River Health Care, Rockford.

Russell Michael Grant, 58, Zwingle, Iowa, formerly of East Dubuque, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 from complications of Alzheimer’s dementia at the Bell Tower Retirement Community, East Dubuque.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family cares about our friends and loved ones, and so there will be no public visitation at this time. A private graveside service for family was held at the East Dubuque Cemetery. The Rev. Dianne Grace officiated. Military honors were accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League and the Iowa National Guard Funeral Detail.
