Signs encourage community during pandemic

Posted

During the COVID-19 pandemic, local residents are displaying signs of hope at their homes, offering encouragement to those passing by. Above: Mike Scholz painted a sign that now stands facing U.S. 20 in front of his home next to the Ramada Galena. Scholz said he wanted to offer some hope, and creating the sign was a way to feel less helpless. Ashley Powell used chalk to write a message on the driveway in front of her house. The message says, “Dear God, bless our family & keep our love ones safe. We love you.”
