GALENA–Kent D. Klingman, 64, Galena, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, completed his earthly journey on Jan. 13, 2023, at home while surrounded by his loving friends.

To honor Kent’s life, a private family service is being held. Burial will be in the Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Hazel Green, Wis.–Shirley A. Symons, 82, Hazel Green, Wis., passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wis., with the Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales Church Cemetery, Hazel Green. Family and friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

ELIZABETH–Donald L. Stadel, 70, Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, as the result of accidental drowning in the Mississippi River near Ferry Landing, rural Galena.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the Miller-Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Scales Mound United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Libby Rutherford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to the Safe Haven Animal Shelter in Elizabeth.

Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Shullsburg, with a celebration of life luncheon to follow at St. Matthew’s Gym. A visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg, with a rosary being prayed at 3:45 p.m. A visitation will also be held Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 10-10:45 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church Gymnasium.
