MONROE, Wis.–LeRoy L. Burke, 78, Monroe, Wis., died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Saucerman Cemetery, rural Browntown.

GALENA–Robert “Bob” Horbach, 82, Galena, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Midwest Medical Center, Galena. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Galena, where friends may gather after 9 a.m. at the church until the time of Mass. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, is assisting the family.

ELIZABETH–Clark Edward Gerleman, 79, Elizabeth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

A Mass of Remembrance will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth, on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Wenceslaus, Spillville, Iowa, on Friday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. There will be a one-hour visitation held prior to Mass on both Thursday and Friday at the respective locations.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of Dubuque in Clark’s memory. more

SCHAPVILLE–Gary Ray Stadel, “Corn,” 72, Schapville, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 7, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

There will be a visitation in remembrance of Gary on Friday, Feb. 10 from 4-7 p.m. at the Miller-Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound.

Honoring Gary's request, there will be a private family service at the farm at a later date.

GALENA–Kent D. Klingman, 64, Galena, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, completed his earthly journey on Jan. 13, 2023, at home while surrounded by his loving friends.

To honor Kent’s life, a private family service is being held. Burial will be in the Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wis., with the Rev. David Flanagan officiating. ELIZABETH–Donald L. Stadel, 70, Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, as the result of accidental drowning in the Mississippi River near Ferry Landing, rural Galena.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the Miller-Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Scales Mound United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Libby Rutherford officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to the Safe Haven Animal Shelter in Elizabeth.
