APPLE RIVER–Bruce Strohacker, 80, Apple River, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 6, 2022. He passed at home, peacefully, surrounded by his family due to illness not COVID-related.

We ask you to join us for a celebration of life in the place he loved most. The celebration will be held for Bruce on June 18, 2022. The family invites everyone who Bruce knew and loved to celebrate this special man with them. Please inquire with the family for more information on the service.

GALENA–Ronald G. Wink, 85, Galena, formerly of Granville, passed away Feb. 9, 2022, at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community in Galena.

As per Ron’s request, private family services were held.

The Helmer-Shields Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

GALENA–Daniel R. Sertle, 62, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Saturday morning, Feb. 19, 2022.

A celebration of life will begin at noon on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, where friends may call after 9 a.m. until noon. Military honors will be presented immediately following by Galena VFW Post 2665 and American Legion Post 193. Burial will be at later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.

ELIZABETH–Kathleen Rose McCall, better known as Kathy, left her fingerprints behind on everyone she met. Her heart was too big to keep all to herself; she was known for making everything, and everyone feel special.

SAVANNA–Robert H. “Bob” Davidson was a man of character, honor and hard work, often being a role model to his sons and daughter. At the age of 78, Bob passed away suddenly from natural causes at home on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Savanna First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. at the church. CUBA CITY, Wis.–David Gordon “Felix” Paeske, Cuba City, Wis., passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Sienna Crest Memory Care, Mineral Point, Wis.

HANOVER–William “Mike” Miller, 62, passed away after a hard fight with emphysema on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, in Madison, Wis., surrounded by his wife and children.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Law Jones Funeral Home in Hanover as well as one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover. more

GALENA–Sue Ellen Heim passed away peacefully Feb. 5, 2022, at the family cabin in rural Galena, with her family by her side.

The family will be having a celebration of life at a later date in Pilot Knob Cemetery, rural Galena. Cremation rites have been accorded.

DES MOINES, Iowa–Kevin Kollmann was born July 16, 1965 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Ronald and Karin Kaye (Wickler) Kollmann. Kevin passed away of natural causes Feb. 4, 2022, at home in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 56.

GALENA–Gerald M. “Jerry” Spensley, 83, Galena, formerly of Scales Mound, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at home.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Miller-Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound, with Adam Mostert officiating. Burial will be in the Scales Mound Twp. Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:15 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
