Warren eighth grade Pre-Engineering students participated in an engineering design challenge where the students had to design a cardboard canoe, measure and construct a model, then measure and create a cardboard canoe to be raced at the Apple Canyon Lake pool. Teacher Sara Robbe had the students calculate the surface area of the canoe, total weight of canoe, total cost of cardboard and total cost of the duct tape. These calculations helped them determine how far in the water the canoe would sink and how much weight their craft would hold. Students were only allowed to use corrugated cardboard and duct tape. On Monday, May 23, the students tested their designs at the pool. Pictured are: Sophie Leverton and Averi Sabinson.

Students in Kindergarten through second grade at Stockton Elementary School worked on speed stacking in their physical education class. Students learned the basic 3 stack, the 3-3-3 stack, 3-6-3 stack and the 6-6 stack. Cup stacking helps the elementary students use both sides of their bodies and brains to develop important skills and also promotes hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, quickness and concentration.
